Outdoors...

 

We love to get outdoors and explore nature! Our safe and secure garden can be accessed by children throughout the day. We also make the most of our wonderful local area by getting out and about daily…… we get active at the playground and park opposite, we explore the woodland at Steamer Point Nature Reserve, the beach at Highcliffe castle, and we watch the ducklings grow at Lakewood.

Our space….

 

We are fortunate to be based in a spacious, light and bright recently renovated space. We have two playrooms, each suitable for up to twenty children, and free flow access onto our secure garden. We have child-sized toilets and sinks, ideal for fostering independence skills, and a kitchen area for preparing snacks and baking. Children have access to a wide variety of toys and activities, and can take part in a range of creative and open-ended play opportunities.

Healthy minds and healthy bodies….

 

We are passionate about your children’s happiness and wellbeing, and we know that happy, healthy children are best placed to learn and meet their full potential! With that in mind we spend time fostering their mental and physical health. We encourage them to understand and talk about their feelings and emotions, and to be kind and thoughtful towards others. Children have the opportunity to take part in yoga and relaxation. They also learn about healthy eating and hygiene. Children have a healthy snack each session and take part in cooking activities and preparing snacks. We stay active with a wide variety of physical activities, including dancing, action rhymes, gymnastics, ballet, tennis, nature walks, bikes and trikes, and playing on the park.

Our community ethos….

 

Mudeford Wood Playgroup has been running since 1990. We are a charity set up to provide families in the local community with an excellent quality, affordable and happy preschool education. We still continue in the same spirit, our staff are caring and put the wellbeing of our children and their families at the heart of everything we do. We work closely with other local groups and we have close links with schools in the local area, to ensure our children progress smoothly and confidently onwards when they begin school.

Mudeford Wood Preschool serves the communities of Mudeford, Highcliffe, Somerford and the surrounding areas. We are a registered charity and a member of the Preschool Learning Alliance. We are rated 'Good' by Ofsted (Mudeford Wood Playgroup URN 144297).
